logo sht nc 250 250 250We have just finished Strzegom Horse Trials during which another competition of Nations Cup Series 2014, the most prestigious series of International Equestrian Federation, took place. The event was run for all five days. There were six competitions in which almost 270 pairs from all over the world took part. As always the best riders didn’t forget about Strzegom Horse Trials. This year eventing lovers could watch live the current World Champion and double Gold Medalist of Olympic Games at the same time- Michael Jung. Among the well known riders were also the seven-time Olympian and three-time Olympic Games Medalist Andrew Hoy as well as current European Champion- Dirk Schrade.

The most important competition CIC3*- included to Nations Cup Series, was won by the German team, whose members won also the individual classification.

The German team was on the lead just after the first day (after the dressage test) with the gap of 30 point over the Great Britain. The eventing enthusiasts weren’t surprised by that as the German team consisted the “golden trinity” of last Olympic Games: Michael Jung, Dirk Schrade and Sandra Auffarth.

The second place was taken by the British team, which takes the lead in general classification of Nations Cup Series 2014.
The third place in CICO 3* was for Holland with total result of 253,50 penalty points.

German athletes won also the individual classification. The last test- show jumping didn’t affect the final results. The first was Michael Jung with total result of 35,4 penalty points, second was Dirk Schrade (43,20 pp) and third Sandra Auffart (44,20 pp).

The best in Polish team was Wiesław Nowak, representing the host- Stragona Equestrian Centre, with final result of 93 pp.

„Das Lied der Deutschen” was played three more times on hippodrome in Morawa. And it was two times for Michael Jung. First at the prize giving ceremony of short one star. Michael Jung won that competition on 8- years old stallion Der Dante, on which he was leading from the very beginning. The dressage test determined the victory in fact. Despite the fault on the parcours, the athlete needed just a clear round in time in cross country test. And as so it was, Michael Jung finished the competition with total result of 37,10 pp. Second, with lost of 7,3 pp, was Sandra Auffarth- Michael Jung team colleague from Olympic Games in London. Third was Nienke Van Roekel representing Holland.

Next prize giving ceremony when the lap of honour was lead by Michael Jung was finishing competition CIC2*. The athlete took first two places. The third was for his country fellow Carolin Thenhausen.

For German rider Dirk Schrade the show jumping test of CCI* was a piece of cake as well. The athlete was on the lead from very beginning- he was first on Carlevo and second on Mr Tomtom. Andreas Ostholt with Corvette 31, also representing Germany, was third.

In two long stars (CCI2*) Eveline Bodenmuller from Switzerland won with 11- years old mare Unita MB CH. Second and third place was taken by Polish: Paweł Warszawski and Jan Kamiński. Moreover Paweł Warszawski on Filer (12-years old polish breed gelding) was the only one to have a clear round in show jumping test.

The most breathtaking competition was surely CCI3*, in which the victory wasn’t certain till the last second. Probably nobody was expecting that Saturday cross country test would change the results of three long stars so much. Two leaders after the dressage test Andrew Hoy and Andreas Ostholt retired after faults on fence eleven (combination of hedges). Polish spectators were delighted by Marta Dziak- Gierlicz competing on Vacat JP after their move up from 20th to 3rd place. In final classification the rider was third. First was Nicky Roncoroni on Stonedge representing Great Britain with final result 63,60 pp. Among first three riders, she was the only one with clear round on parcours. Second was Stefano Fioravanti from Italy.
